What to expect from a hoof boot fitting consultation

During a fitting consultation, we will first discuss your intended use for the boots. This may be for riding protection (such as hacking or endurance), turnout, or therapeutic purposes.

I will measure the front hooves, hind hooves, or both, depending on individual requirements, and record these measurements in my report. This allows you to keep a copy of your horse’s hoof measurements for future reference.

I will then use hoof boot shells (the base part of the boot) from a range of brands and models to assess how each hoof capsule fits within the boot, including whether the width, length, and wall or heel angles are suitable. Please note that the boot you prefer may not always be the best fit for your horse, so you may need to consider a different brand or model. Not all hoof boots fit in the same way.

Based on these assessments, I will make a recommendation on the boots most likely to work best for your horse. This will give you a clear idea of the type and size of boot you can purchase. Please note that I do not stock hoof boots for sale; boots will need to be purchased independently from an online supplier.

A full report will be sent to you at the end of the consultation via email or Whatsapp.

Boot Fitting Policy

• A £20 non-refundable deposit is required for all boot fitting appointments and must be paid up front at the time of booking.

• If a scheduled boot fitting appointment is cancelled or the client fails to attend (no-show), the deposit will be retained and is non-refundable.

• The remaining payment balance for the appointment must be paid on the day of visit.

• As with any device applied to the hoof, there is always a risk. I will not be held responsible for any injury that occurs to your horse when using hoof boots or if a hoof boot gets damaged during use.
